A South-South partnership to foster agricultural research and innovation for development by supporting policy dialogue and collaborative projects.
Ultimately, the “Marketplace” will fund collaborative projects between Africa and Brazil in the field of agriculture.
Proposals will be accepted within the 4 thematic areas below. Innovation should be a major component of the proposals. For details and examples of potential topics, please download the guidelines for proposals available on the website.
Individuals representing collaboration between African-based public or private, governmental or non-governmental research and development organizations, and one or more of Embrapa´s (Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation) centers. Projects with only African or Brazilian organizations are not eligible.
We encourage African and Brazilian individuals already working in collaboration to apply and certainly welcome new partnerships and innovative ideas that impact development.
Contact us at: contact@africa-brazil.org if you need assistance matching your interests with potential collaborators. Please note that our website has a specific area to facilitate match making between researchers in Africa and Brazil.
This is a 2-step process. The call for proposals IS OPEN.
The “Marketplace” Steering Committee (SC) will be in charge of the selection process. The selection process will be as follows:
a) Selection of a subset of submitted pre-proposals based on the established eligibility and assessment criteria (see guidelines),
b) Authors of selected pre-proposals invited to present full proposals.
c) Selection of the best subset of submitted full proposals for project funding.
We expect to fund, initially, 5-7 projects. Funds for full proposal development might be available for selected pre-proposals.
Projects can have a maximum duration of 2 years.
